Week #6: Beware of Self-Sabotage

Home Stretch, Challengers! For Week #6, we will be focusing on Self-Sabotage. Certain thoughts left unnoticed can single-handedly undermine everything you’ve worked so hard to accomplish. Beware! This week, share in the comments below on beliefs, habits, and hangups you have noticed that have hurt your past healthy efforts. Let’s work together to “re-wire” our minds and achieve life-long success!

Step 1 to a Healthy Body Image

How do you have a healthy body image when you’re on the journey to…
Lose weight.  Get stronger.  Have better muscle tone.  Fit into your favorite
jeans.
How is it possible to actually LIKE what you see in the mirror even while
you’ve working to improve yourself and reach your goals?
It’s difficult, isn’t it?  Some may say it’s nearly impossible.
I can assure you that if you start to focus on the inside (what’s in your head)
versus the outside (your hips, thighs, and butt), you will start to see better
results.
Try this exercise, even if it may seem silly at first:  As you’re getting ready
in the morning, look at yourself in the mirror and give yourself a positive
affirmation, “You ARE __________” (“beautiful, strong, a winner,” etc).  Then,
at night, before you go to bed, do the same thing and congratulate yourself for
accomplishing something during the day.
While this exercise may seem hokey to some, it’s a start to cleaning up the
negative self-talk we allow to run our minds – “you’re fat, you can’t do this,
it’s too hard, I hate my thighs, I’m always gonna be this way, why bother,”
blah, blah, blah.
Try giving yourself positive affirmations this week and let me know how it
goes.  You’ll begin to notice how hard you can be on yourself and start to
change – THIS is the key to seeing lasting results on the outside!!
Report your progress in the comments below.
I look forward to hearing about your success!
