Last week was full of mixed emotions. I didn’t losing any pounds this week even with adding a day of boot camps and diligently writing everything down I eat. Heidi came over last night to help me with my measurements and I have lost inches so I guess that was positive. I am so paranoid about eating too much or the wrong thing so I end up not eating enough. However I am starting off the week with positive thoughts!

  2. Allison says:

Awesome Samantha!! You just motivated me to step it up a notch!!! I am drinking a protein shake as a snack while I type this :)

Sarah: how cool are you organizing an active activity! I love hiking so let me know about hiking Sunday afternoons. I am free after 11:30am when I get out of church. Thanks!

Here is to a healthy start to week 4! Time is flying by and my butt needs a little kick to reach my goals.

  3. Jenn F says:

Ladies – Congrats to everyone on their successes in week 3! I was not able to make the Monday night class since I was on vacation, but I watched it online on Tuesday. I had already set some goals for myself and made a couple of other changes after the class.

    1. During work hours, I was a diet soda junkie. Starting with week 1 of the challenge, I cut out my daily soda/caffeine fix and replaced it with green tea – and after the class, I decided to replace the old sweetener I was using with a natural sweetener (stevia).

    2. I love having a chai latte in the morning. It is a good source of calcium for me and the chai concentrate I use is organic, but it is loaded with sugar. So I switched from the concentrate to brewing my own tea and using the natural sweetener. Not exactly the same, but still pretty good!

It was a crazy week with vacation ending and family activities planned for every night of the week. This is where I would normally fall into a mode of eating out or cooking for convenience and I’m happy to report that even with being on the go so much, we ate healthy meals at home and saved a ton of money by not eating out!

While the number on the scale isn’t moving as fast as I originally hoped for (down about 7 pounds), I am not getting discouraged! My measurements are doing the talking – my waist and hips measurements are down 6 inches! Wow – my pants don’t feel like they are sucking the life out of me anymore.

I have been riding my bike every chance I get and am feeling great. I’m challenging everyone to find an activity that they love and work it in on the days you don’t have bootcamp!

  4. Sarah says:

    Ladies! :) Week 4!

I have to admit that I am still struggling with completely sticking to a diet but I am making better choices so that is a good step in the right direction. I feel healthier and on the way to a brand new me!

I am inspired, renewed, and motivated after hiking up in the White Ranch open space yesterday. Anyone interested in getting together Sunday afternoons and hiking? I would like to get out and do this every week! Sun or snow. :) Get with me after a class if interested.

    Let’s go MissFits! :)

  5. Samantha Haynie says:

Alright ladies! Week 3 coming to a close and i told I to look out :) I am down10 lbs evinced the challenge started and down 12 evinced the week before!!!! I am so excited especially since I could not make it to camp fri or sat because of a conference. Keep your heads up girls we can do it! Glad you all are having great success at the store.
I have a bussy schedule also and find it helpful to pack all my food even diner if I might not be home in time. A small cooler and freeze packs are a good investment. Plan plan plan that has been my motivation and what has helped me
succeed! I’ll se. Less of you all next week!

  6. Amy M says:

Well, as for saving shopping, I will be looking at the Sunday adds to see whats on sale and plan my meals around the produce. As for meat, last year we bought a small upright deep freeze and bought 1/2 of a cow that is only grass fed as well as heritage chicken and turkey that is vegetarian fed and free of antibiotics and hormones from local farms here in CO. It is amazing, more healthy and cost effective. Plans for this week are to get back on schedule with working out, not just bootcamp, get my dogs on walks, take my supplements, and eat better.

  7. Brittany Lee says:

    Hey Ladies,

First I must say that as I just read through all of the posts I felt inspired and comforted. Most everyone is positive and if they aren’t they are honest.

This week started out well, my grocery shopping trip went well, I was inspired by nutrition class, I went when I wasn’t hungry and bought only what I needed for the week and felt I made healthy choices. But as the week has dragged on I have been really hungry, like all the time hungry, so even though I am not eating unhealthy really, I am over eating. I also have had no motivation to workout since boot camp Monday. I have walked twice with my daughter but that is it! We have a really busy weekend and 2 parties (how will I control myself?!) to go to, so I am just….I dunno….blah! Already wishing it was Monday for a fresh start!

So, here is hoping I can fit in at least 1 real workout over the weekend and not pig out on junk at the parties!

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

  8. Kim says:

Just wanted to let you all know that organic Fuji apples are on sale this week and King Soopers for 99 cents per lb

  9. Allison says:

Morning! Just a few thoughts for today:

Roxanne~ I too have been thinking about doing the Reset plan. I am going to see how I feel about my progress in two weeks and then decide. Keep me posted on how you like it if you choose to do it! **Mango Salsa: YUMMY!

Samantha: Binge eating has also been an issue for me. Sometimes I notice it has been a few days since I have had a craving to over-eat and then that somehow makes me do it! Keep telling yourself positive messages and know we are right there with you!

Sarah: AWESOME ARM VICTORY!! I have a similar situation going on with my lower abs and can’t wait for the day that the mini roll is gone :) Inspiring!!!

Lauren: I was so thankful to read your post about being frustrated about working out so hard and being disappointed in not seeing results. That is me to a T. I like exercising and have a solid routine going on, yet I am delaying the results by not eating right. I guess that just goes to show how important the nutrition side is of this whole loosing weight equation.

*So I don’t know how many of you out there are Biggest Loser fans, but I am a newbie when it comes to watching this show. A few weeks ago I was walking on the treadmill and it was on the tv. I ended up walking a whole hour instead of the half hour I planned since I was so interested in their results. I have been following it since and decided it would be interesting for me to calculate my percentage of weight loss for the week, just like they do on the show. I weigh in on Thursday’s and the show is on Tuesday’s, so I think it will be inspiring for me to see their percentage of weight loss on Tuesday and then see how I do on Thursday. Could be a fun new motivation tool!

Have a great day everyone and see those of you attending tonight’s 6:30pm-7:30pm bootcamp!

  10. Lauren says:

    Ladies-

I am way impressed with all of you. I have had a tough time eating healthy-my problem is that my typical day starts with me leaving at 8 am without eating breakfast and getting home from work, bootcamp, whatever, at about 10:30pm. It’s hard to plan meals when I’m never home! I need to really commit to eating better- because it’s so frustrating to go to 4 bootcamps a week and not lose any weight!

But the bottomline is I am inspired by all of you and how hard you are all working- and it definetly sparks my competetive nature to try and do as well as all of you are doing!!! Keep it up!

  11. sarah says:

Everyone has such great goals, positive thoughts, and ready for more MissFit action! I love this group! :) I do believe there is strength in numbers.

I still am working on swimming through the last of my denial over my “healthy” eating. But I have no doubt that with determination, will power, and Priscilla’s nutrition class I will get to the turning point very soon. I like to think I eat generally healthy during the week anyway but just because I eat loads of veggies and have a pretty good idea what constitutes a healthy meal doesn’t mean I am actually aware of what I am eating, how many calories, and how types of food may be affecting my metabolism. So long story short, my goal this week is to really watch what I eat, think about how this will nourish my body instead of satisfying a craving.

My positive thought for the week: even though I am pretty sure, according to my scale anyway, I have gained a pound, I know I am gaining muscle and toning down. Other people notice and comment that I look trimmer. That is a good feeling. I can’t see it all over but I do see one great change. So I had this roll of fat that sat above my elbow on my upper arm when I stretched my arm out. Well, yup, I just checked again, it is GONE!! :) My arms may have told me choice words during workouts but now they are singing a different tune.

I have no doubt that with the help of friends, this great group, and conscience eating habits that I will be healthy again and that’s my only goal weight loss is a bonus.

    Enjoy the week ladies!

  12. Roxanne says:

I’m thinking I want to try the reset by Usana. I want to try and get rid of the toxins in my body that I know I have stored over the years. I’ve been struggling a little bit in my food choices. I’m good all day but then I get those late night cravings! I’ve resisted for the most part by cooking my meals for the week on Sunday. That seems to help a lot. I grilled all my chicken, made a mango salsa, and cut and dried my lettuce.

My goal for this week is to drink more water, and to find more healthy simple recipes to keep things interesting.

Can’t wait to workout tomorrow! I really need it this week!

    Until then…Goodnight!

  13. Samantha says:

So nice to read everyones encouraging words today. Usually I’m right there giving them back. But today was a hard day for me. Really tired of eating salads. Im not that big on veggies and even though I’m tring to do better I am still not a fan :(

So I guess today was my binge day that I’ve been trying to avoid (sigh) but we’re bound to have them I guess, just have to jump back on the wagon tomorrow.
See some of you at camp dark and early!

    We can do it!!!!!

  14. Allison says:

Bad habits be gone! I hate it when you make progress and then all of the sudden, before you know it you did something that you ‘used’ to do. Ahh, so frustrating.

Keep it up everyone. Keep your goal in the front of your mind. Don’t let it out of your head.

  15. Wendy says:

On eating healthy but organic – Pricilla did a great class at whole foods (maybe she will offer it again) but what I learned is if you watch sales at places like whole foods is you can often eat organic for less expensive. Also – there are certain things to buy organic and others that are not as important.

So my goals this week are to stay on my meal plan. Last week I brought food to work and then didn’t eat as often as I should.

I did have someone say to me today that it looked like I lost weight – YEA !!!

  16. Lindsay says:

    Hey Gals!

Week 3. I feel like I am getting into the swing of eating better. My workout feel better as well. I know I am getting stronger. I am able to do more full push ups and push through some of that pain during camp. I also am feeling less sore.

My only downfall is those little candy corn pumpkins. I love them! I am limiting myself and only eating one serving of them.

I am so happy I joined this challenge. I have had the opportunity to meet so many supportive people and I appreciate each of you. Keep up the good work ladies!

  17. Ruth says:

    HI Connie,
About the family bringing in bad snacks, maybe you can have already prepared good healthy snacks out on the counter too! For you!

i.e. bag of carrots, or an apple with chocolate almond butter or something that is more desert like but healthy (cranberries and yogurt.

The key might to have it prepared already so you aren’t tempted (like I would be) to just grab the cookies,

    Good luck!
    Ruth

  18. Ruth says:

    Hi Everyone!

I like the practicality of Priscilla’s lecture last night on shopping. Do you all find that by eating more fiber, you are able to lose more inches/weight? I’ve just started eating more fiber since the challenge started and I’ve lost a few inches around the waist. Woohoo!

What are some are your favorite breakfast foods? I really like plain greek yogurt with fiber one 80 calorie cereal with some berries on top. It leaves me feeling full in the morning.

Remember we are doing this not just to lose weight but also to keep our bodies healthy! We are setting a pathway that will effect how we feel, act, and even how we can influence others!

    Keep up the good work!

  19. Allison says:

Morning! After a long weekend with family and friends, I feel pretty good about how I handled the change in my routine. I stayed active and for the most part, I stuck to only one serving of all my Mother’s cooking. :)

Yesterday I went to the 4:30pm bootcamp and my legs are sore. Whew, not sure I can even count how many lunges we did! I am excited to see the video on saving at the grocery store.

My goal this week, lose some weight by making positive choices since I will be planning ahead!

REMEMBER: You are a beautiful woman, in control of your cravings and headed to a healthier you!!!

  20. Samantha Haynie says:

My goals are to add more workouts on days I don’t have camp and stay on track with food plan!

  21. Samantha Haynie says:

Kick butt hardcore leg workout!!!! Thanks Teri! Super excited about tonights session, grocery shopping is the hard part for me!

  22. Sara F says:

My goal this week is to eat consistently every 3 hours – I am usually good about eating at meal times, but not so good about having a healthy snack in between.

    Looking forward to tonight’s session!

  23. cnjd616 says:

Need help with family support!!!! They keep buying cookies and ice cream, etc. Hard to leave alone when it is right in front of you. Maybe the shopping hints this week will help.

    Thanks! Connie

  24. Maddie R. says:

This week I am cutting out the fake sugars! I learned that the toxins from artificial sugars is being stored in my fat cells (thanks Priscilla), and I want to get it out of there.

My goal last week was to drink more water… and I didn’t do too hot so I am adding it to my goals for this week as well.

I am excited for tonight’s session because I DEFINITELY fall into the category of dragging my feet to the organic section because it is so darn expensive. Can’t wait to get some good tips!!

    See you there, Ladies!
