Pump Pumpkins to Support ACC’s Fitness Center
(October 20, 2010 – Littleton, Colorado) – Are you tired of the same old boring workouts? Then check out Arapahoe Community College’s Fourth Annual Pumpkin Boot Camp at 8:30 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 30 and have fun while supporting a good cause.
The Pumpkin Boot Camp is an hour long total body workout that uses pumpkins to do sit ups, push ups, shoulder raises and much more. The event is hosted by ACC’s Fitness Center and Littleton’s Holistic Health LLC and benefits the ACC Foundation Fitness Center Fund.
“ACC has been a great partner for so many years that I want to raise money to support their fitness center and repair their floor. And what better way to do it than with our most hilarious workout of the year,” said Holistic Health Director Priscilla Friedlander.
This year’s boot camp theme is the 1980s so participants are encouraged to dress in 80s workout wear. Prizes will also be awarded for the best costumes.
Participants will need to bring one 6-10 pound pumpkin. The suggested donation is $25 to the ACC Foundation. All donations are tax deductible. After the workout, participants can enjoy healthy, post-workout Halloween treats prepared by Friedlander and her staff. The event is open to anyone three years of age and older.
For those who cannot participate but are interested in sponsoring the event, online donations may be made at https://sss.boulder.net/arapahoe/securedonation.html and earmark it “Pumpkins.” If you would like to reserve a spot, please contact Priscilla Friedlander at 720.951.0101 or register at www.meetup.com/missfits.
Big Papas BBQ and CAMP MISSFITS™ Team Up!
July 1, 2010
Big Papas BBQ and Camp MissFits™ Offer a Smokin’ Deal! Sassy Smokin’ Breast Wrap with a Kickin’ Workout to Boot!
Littleton – Big Papas BBQ and Camp MissFits™ have teamed up for the month of July to offer 21 days of free fitness training when ordering Big Papa’s Smokin’ Breast Wrap.
Combine a bold name with an attractive price and a unique boot camp offer, and the Wrap is sure to be a hit. Priscilla Friedlander, Camp MissFits™ Director, and Frank Alfonso, Owner of Big Papas, co-created the Smokin’ Breast Wrap as a healthy and tasty option for the calorie conscious patron. Not only is it light in calories, it is also light on the budget at $5.99 for the smoked turkey breast wrap and a side salad.
Friedlander said: “I’ve never met a woman who wants to lose weight slowly! And eating out, especially during the social summer months, can make losing weight even more difficult. Therefore, I teamed up with a restaurant that health-conscious women might normally avoid, encouraging them to create lighter menu options while adding free fitness training as an incentive.” Patrons of Big Papa’s BBQ in Littleton will receive a 21 day gift certificate that includes free fitness training with Camp MissFits™ at Arapahoe Community College, a complete fitness and nutrition assessment, and a membership to the College’s Fitness Center.
Big Papas BBQ offers award-winning smoked meats and is excited about offering lighter menu options. Alfonso said: “Bring it! Your healthy appetite, that is! Visit Big Papa’s and enjoy low glycemic, gluten-free, and low fat barbecue options while getting a free boot camp to get in shape!”
