Was proud of myself last week, I worked out every day last week. So after my soccer game on yesterday I took some well deserved down time. Need to get better eating on the weekends, had breakfast after my game but then forgot to eat until dinner.

  2. Heather says:

With week two gone I am down another 2 lbs. I am getting use to all the diet changes I actually forgot to take a free day last week.

  3. Samantha Haynie says:

Week3 lookout! I AM a strong beautiful woman in control of my cravings on my way to a healthier me!

  4. Samantha Haynie says:

Yesterday was a rough day for me:( not really food wise but emotionally. I was so worn out I sleot through my alarm for camp this morning! I am sooo not a morning person but I feel so accomplished when I do boot camp before anything else! Missed everyone but hope to see some if you tomorrow! Oh yeah by the way down another 2 lbs so far and 2 more inches off my waist! Got into a pair of size 14s today!!!!!!

  5. Amy says:

I actually got up at 4:55 and went to the 5:30 turbo kick class at 24 hour! I tried to talk myself out of it but then yelled at myself and litterally kicked myself out of bed. It felt great but turbo kick ‘aint got nothin’ on bootcamp! Hope you all have a great weekend!

  6. Jenn F. says:

I am so glad I started bootcamp when I did – 2 hours of mountain biking kicked my butt! Last night, it was hard to make good food choices because we went to a sports bar to watch my beloved St. Louis Cardinals. But tonight will be bettwr- have a pot of turkey chili on the stove and I really got my burn on today! I hope everyone has a great weekend filled with healthy eating and exercise!

  7. Sara F says:

I AM SO SORE AFTER WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY NIGHT! …but it feels great and I feel so proud of myself! :)

I wanted to share about my husband, actually. He dislocated his shoulder last weekend… it’s an old injury and his arm is in a sling for the next month or so. He was so discouraged because he won’t be able to do his normal activities that keep him in shape – working out, playing on his softball team, etc.

SO – it’s been so helpful that we are eating healthy together! He absolutely loves it and has actually lost 6 pounds, too! He has been so encouraging and motivating for me… and I continue to realize how important it is to have people on your team! I don’t know if he would have chosen to eat like this on his own, but now that we’re both doing it, he is definitely a fan. This continues to keep me on track and makes it feel more like a lifestyle change than just a “diet.”

    Have a great weekend, ladies!

  8. Allison says:

Whoo-hoo! It is Friday, yay! I went to bootcamp this morning and am loving the energy boost. Although I had to leave a few minutes early to make it to work on time, I feel great about the energy I put out.

Thanks for the tips on seeing how recipes break down into protein/fats. Yesterday was my first day following the ratios for the Protein-fat type. I didn’t eat a single bit of anything that wasn’t on my plan and that felt amazing. I had pretty good energy through out the day and am following the same eating today. Let’s go for it!!

I am a beautiful woman who is in control of my cravings on my way to a healthier me!

Have a wonderfully healthy weekend everyone!!!

  9. Sarah says:

One more day of workouts and week 2 is down! I must admit, I dread morning class on Friday soooo not a morning person, but once it is done I feel energized and ready to meet the day head on! Thanks Priscilla and Missfit ladies this morning for a great workout this morning!

Still tracking my food this week! Yay! I was thinking of compiling so my favorite healthy recipes that I have collected over the years and sharing it. Anyone interested? I have a collection of cookbooks like some ladies collect shoes or purses.. It is strange fetish, hahaha!

Raising my coffee to a brand new day and to the weekend full of healthy food choices! Have a great weekend everyone! :)

  10. Jenn F. says:

I am also a protein person and am trying to make the adjustment to get more lean protein in my diet but it is a challenge to not go overboard on the amount of fat! I used myfitnesspal to customize the ratio of carbs:protein:fat and that certainly makes it easier to track.

Today my husband and I are on our first vacation without the kids in 8 years. We are headed to Fruita for 4 days of mountain biking so I should be getting plenty of exercise. Now here’s to making good food choices and showing some restraint at the wineries in Palisade!

    P.S. I loved the spin-ervals at yesterday’s 6 am bootcamp. Thanks, Donna!

Day 3 of keeping track of my food! So far so good!

Hey Alison, with the food breakdown for a recipe, I have a recipe program so that helps but Spark People is pretty good about having “user entered” recipes or I just googled and found:

    http://caloriecount.about.com/cc/recipe_analysis.php
    http://recipes.sparkpeople.com/recipe-calculator.asp

    I hope that helps a bit :)

I am what I believe and I am on my way to health and fitness rockstar!! Woohoo Go missfits!

  12. Samantha Haynie says:

I really like my fitness pal too, I actually started using it before the challenge started! If anyone who is using it and would like to add me as a friend on the site we can comment and see how each other or doing, find me at camp! Those of u who do not know me I’m the one always wearing a bandana :)

Amy I’m glad u are feeling better! Way to go with keeping to the calorie limit. I know it is hard to fight through the weight lose program while sick. But you ARE! That is half the battle! Keep it up!

Way to go Maddie! I know it is tough when family visits, seems like all my family wants to do is eat when they are here lol:).

Keep up the good work girls hope u all got signed up for pumpkin bootcamp! Can’t wait to c all the super heros! :)

  13. Roxanne says:

After Monday nights workout I got really sick with a 24 hours bug! But was able to make it to tonights workout!

I’ve been using myfitnesspal app on my iphone and it’s really helped me to keep track of what i’m eating.

I’m eager to see results but I know it takes time…but i’m so ready for a change.

I’m ready to transform not only my body but my lifestyle to a healthier more fit me!

    Keep it up girls!!

  14. Allison says:

Hi Everyone! It is mid week and I am a beautiful woman who is in control of my cravings on my way to a healthier me! :) I am wondering how to break down a recipe or product, like a protein shake, into the percentages that the metabolism test suggested. I am going to try to google it, but if you have a suggestion please let me know! I am going to weigh in on Friday so I hope to have good news to report then.

  15. Lauren says:

I also started using myfitnesspal and it is pretty great. My phone is ancient so I can’t use the app features but so far it seems like a good way to keep track of eating.

And on that note….holy cow I thought I was being healthy but everything I’m eating is adding up calorie wise! I had a bad day and had some chinese on monday and I am appalled how that demolished my allowable intake.

Definetly feeling the need to step it up this week, starting with back to back classes tonight if I can do it- gotta get those 4 classes in!

  16. Sara F says:

Congrats, Maddie! So proud of you :)

I started using this website to calculate calories – I think you will like it: myfitnesspal.com

I heard about it in the nutrition class on Monday, and it has been GREAT! I love it because it fills in all the details I need without spending a ton of time having to crunch the numbers.

There is also an app for the iphone so you can do it on the go.

    AND – it’s FREE!

    Enjoy!

  17. Amy M says:

So, I am feeling a little better and keeping in a good calorie range, even with all the OJ I have been drinking. I still feel so far behind, darn viruses. Plan to attempt to attend boot camp tonight and go slow, we will see how that goes. Ruth, I would keep up with the snack pre dinner, drink lots of water so you don’t eat as much of the meeting’s dinner if you can help it, and really try to pack your own meals. Maybe you can talk to whoever is ordering the food and try to get them to add a healthier choice?

  18. Maddie R. says:

So… My family has been in town since Thursday of last week. Loved having them here, but I am sure my challenge progress will love that they are now gone back to Atlanta! It was really hard going out to eat all the time, but I did a pretty good job of making good choices, and bringing healthy snack with me when we were out.

I am down 2bs from the first week, which is a huge hurdle for me as I have been stuck for a few weeks now.

Excited to be on day 10 already! Keep it up challengers :)
