Yay! Missfits!
We promised to track our food and feelings so here I go!
http://www.sparkpeople.com/
I have used Spark People before and it does have a pretty cool tracking system that allows for notes and other comments. Still having a heck of a time doing the “feelings”. I need to remember to dedicate time to my positive transformation so I am not setting myself for failure. Does anyone else struggle with that?
Hi ladies!
So the second week has been going well. I feel much stronger and people have commented on my becoming defined tricep muscles. Woohoo!
One hard thing for me has been all the school meetings I have to go to. Most of them are over lunch time (I pack my own lunch) but the dinner ones are killing me. I entered all my food journal into myfitnesspal.com and boy dinner killed me. Chicken alfredo at the meeting isn’t so good for the diet.
I’m working on a solution for packing both lunch and dinner but boy it is hard. Even the snack trick between lunch and dinner doesn’t help.
Any suggestions?
Ruth
Amy- sorry to hear you are ill. Just don’t let it discourage you. On Monday in class we talked about trying the same meal but adding things like cheese or beans and then taking them away to c how your body reacts. I have sometimes gotten sick on some of the many diets I have tried also. I find it helps to drink extra water ad stay away from dairy. You may have already tried this but thought id share. Also may try splitting your bigger meals in two and letting each one settle. If you’d like you can get my number from Priscilla. Hope u feel better soon.
I checked out myfitnesspal.com from last nights class and it works really well. Even been the my excel spreadsheet. I also added the ap to my phone, so to limit my excuses of not recording everything. The list of foods is pretty good even had my Usana bar on the list.
So it is week 2 and I had to call in sick to work and feel like I got hit by a truck. Everytime I get going with a lifestyle change, I get sick. I have pulled out all my tricks, chicken soup, OJ, vitamins galore, nyquil, mucinex, sudafed, any other tips?? I hope to make it back tomorrow night. On a good note, I had lost 5 pounds before this weekend. Keep up the good work everyone and props to the marathon runners!!
Hi Lindsay – I’ve had the same problem with not wanting to be rude when food is offered. To make matters worse I’ve often wanted the food they are offering. But as we all know it isn’t good for me. So what I usually say is that it will make me sick – which is true in my case. I have a very sensitive diet and although I want and can eat the food sweet and heavy things often go right through me (I know too much info for you all). So just stick to – “It doesn’t agree with me” which is true it adds weight.
Hi Everyone – I didn’t get a chance to post last night. Down 3 pounds going into week 2. It turns out I am a Fat & Protein Type – which surprised me. I thought I would be a Carb type. So I am going to modify my meal plan for this week for the protein type to see if that helps.
Ofh yeah, I lost 4.5 lbs & .5in off my waist!
Week 1 over! Woohoo.
. I think I even told the lady at party city about the compitition just cause I was getting a costume for pumpkin bootcamp!
Jenny F- way to go on your inches lost! Just keep in mind that muscle wieghs more than fat and it all cones down to how you feel in your cloths and how you feel mentally! Keep it up!
Sara F- 5 lbs Rock on girl! I bet most of it u gained bacj was prob from water retention. Get back on the plan this week and I bet you will see that 5 plus some come right back off!
Heather- great job dropping 4 lbs! So happy your having fun getting your family involved. Keep it up!
Sarah- keep your head up! And keep on the positive, if you didnt gain any you did well and you exercised! I know you will rock it this week!
Lindsay- I definatly now how it feels to have food given to you when you try and say no politely. Lol my whole family is like that! But I have found that it is pretty effective just to be honest. It’s ok to say no thanks I’m eating healthier or that isn’t in my food plan today. You never know you might inspire someone else to eat more conciously! You don’t have to be ashamed of trying to take better care of yourself
Alright ladies can’t wait to see you tonight! Deffinatly ready to work out hard tonight!
Hi ladies!!
So excited for Heather and Jen! Weight and inches down, so awesome! I have to be excited for everyone else right now because I haven’t lost any weight yet. I am a little bummed but I definitely didn’t make the right choices this weekend for food. But on a good note, I do feel stronger and more energized than I did before and I am totally looking forward to another week of the challenge. Lindsay! I totally understand what you are saying about the food and not being rude. Maybe you could just tell her “I am on a very strict diet”, “I have a food allergies” or something along those lines? Better than sabotaging your diet (like me!) I would hope most would understand.
So yesterday I ran the Rock and Roll half marathon! I haven’t lost any weight, but am feeling that I look better and stronger. I did pretty good on my meals except for yesterday, which I guess I counted as my cheat day. Excited for this week. I really enjoy working out with all you ladies! You really inspire and push me to work harder!
One week down 6 to go. I am loving this challenge. My boyfriend and I sat down and made a grocery list then went shopping. It is so important to me that he is on board wiht the diet and doing it with me… it would be so much harder to stick to if he was on the other side of the table eating burgers and french fries.
Last week was a struggle food wise as I did not have any food in the house. We are stocked up now and I started today off right then I went to a meeting this afternoon that brought me back a couple steps. There was a ton of food at the meeting. When I did not go to get any the hostess went over to the food table filled a plate for me and brought it over. What am I supposed to do? I didn’t want to be rude or waste food so I ended up snacking on the cake. Now I feel guilty about it because I didn’t even want it but ate it so I didn’t appear rude. How do you politely turn down someone when they offer you food? I tried the “I am full. I just ate.” with no success. HELP!
Happy Monday! I did the Denver Marathon yesterday! With my time being a lot slower than my personal best, it energized me to treat my body better. This week my goal is to eat with kindness in mind, kindness to my body that is! Tonight at bootcamp I will be taking it easy since my knees are sore and I am excited to get more information about my metabolism. I took that quiz and I am a ‘Fat and Protein’ metabolism….wondering what that entails!
At the beginning of week 2 I am down 4 pounds which is exciting. I am also feeling better physically and mentally! My boys are having fun getting involved. We are having family pushup nights. My seven year old can still do more push ups in a row then me but I will get him by the end of the challenge.
I am feeling more and more energetic as this challenge progresses. This weekend, I tackled some projects around the house in addition to the mountains of laundry that had piled up. It feels so good to have that out of the way!
Then I was elated to see that I have lost 2.5 inches from my waist and hips in a week. That feels awesome!
Well… I lost 5 pounds BEFORE my cheat day… apparently I cheated a little too much!
I went on a brewery tour with friends this weekend – but we rented bikes, so I got a little bit of exercise despite the calories! I realize that I respond a lot better to the idea of eating healthy 6 days a week with a cheat day thrown in. I just need to cut down a little more on that day – obviously!
I am looking forward to a good workout today to kickstart the week!
Hope everyone had a good weekend despite the definite veg day on Saturday! Made an excellent lentil soup to help with the “must have soup” day.
Sunday was not good for me as far as food choices, so taking the food choices serious this week and planning better. Looking forward to the workouts and the nutrition class today!
Yesterday’ s weather was kinda gloomy which normally makes me want to veg. But having to get up for bootcamp kept me motivated! Even with plans of making dinner for friends with a new baby I planned ahead and decided they could eat what I needed to eat! So I made a delicious taco salad with beans and tomatoes and a little corn. They loved it! Keeps me motivated that I can do better in real life with eating. Week one is coming to an end and I feel pretty good!
Did this weather make anyone else feel like sleeping all day today? Thanks to this challenge, we got up, ate a healthy breakfast, and went to the gym instead of vegging out all morning. If you haven’t gotten your burn on for the day, it’s not too late!
Congrats to everyone for rounding out week one of this challenge. It is tough getting up for those early morning boot camps, but I feel so energized for the rest of the day! I have to say that after Monday’s nutrition class, I did a better job of preparing for my day – including taking lots of healthy snacks to work with me. (I did shuttle a bag of baby carrots back and forth a couple of times.) Normally, I would be starving at dinner time but with a simple thing like an apple or grapes with a piece of string cheese, I could stave off the hunger and watch my dinner portions. My family has a very busy schedule, so I realized that I needed to schedule my workout time or it was never going to happen (just like meals). My husband and I sat down and planned the school drop-offs and evening practices and we came up with a plan that worked for all of us! We have the meals planned and groceries bought – looking forward to next week.
Wow, I love what Sara F. said: Priscilla had her start running half an hour early so she could leave half an hour early. I love her passion!
So I just finished my 1st week of the challenge and 3 work outs later (2 miss fit’s camps).
I have found that the dieting part isn’t the hard part. It is working out on days I’m not able to do miss fits that I find hard to get into. So, I continue to take Priscilla’s advice she gave me a long time ago…work out in your favorite way. That is biking for me.
Yay for everyone who didn’t cheat on their diet this week (well maybe after those few chocolate pieces to keep you going!) Looking forward to another week!
Week 1 is almost over. I have done better this week than before the challenge but know I can do better. Fridge is loaded with veggies and plans to make turkey chili, green chili, garlic and kale soup, chicken soup, since germs are floating around our household, as well as quinoa stuffed poblanos, and pork loin roast. Good luck with planning for next week everyone. My goal for this week is to not feel like I want to pass out during bootcamp. Good luck all!
Way to go Wendy!!!!
The motivation and positive feedback and energy from the group is why I LOVE coming and getting my butt kicked! Lol Sarah I’ll see you in the morning and we can exchange numbers.
Now after all the business is done, I’m having a rough evening food wise. Weekends are my toughest. I’m running low on food and trying not to binge :S especially on all the carve I’ve been craving. Tomorrow is a new day and I just have to remember to keep moving forward!
Go Sam !!! I am already down 3 pounds also. It is nice to have such a great group to keep me motivated.
After 5 days, I am feeling great!
Last night, I got the time wrong for the Thursday night class! I showed up 30 minutes early and realized I was going to have to leave class 30 minutes early…so Priscilla told me to get on the treadmill and start running!
2.5 miles later, I started boot camp with everyone…
Today, I AM SO SORE! …but very proud
Thanks for pushing me last night! I can definitely feel the difference today!
Keep up the good work, ladies!
Workout number 3! Wooohoo and a morning at that! This must be a motivating group or I just wouldn’t get up that early..
Sam! I am totally getting your number, girl. I think we all need a little pep talk especially food choices for me. See most of ya tomorrow!
All right! Day five! Keep it up ladies we can do it! I couldn’t wait until Monday so I weighed this morning… Lost 3 lbs Woohoo! If any of you need someone to talk to or just one on one encouragement ask for my phone number at camp. I’m there Monday night and wed Fri Sat mornings! Have a grest day!
Ok, feel better today with the food plan. Not as hungry as yesturday but cheated alittle
I’m just going to have to wick but in the morning at camp! I’m going to try and get a walk in before bed tonight!
“Ninja” Jess kicked my butt last night! What a workout.. Back to it again this evening even though I can’t feel my legs.. Hahaha! What fun this is though, I love the comradery and the trainers are awesome, really staying motivated! Food choices are just OK at this point. Not terrible, but I am working up to eating good stuff all day.
Go MissFits!!!
Had an off day yesterday and I think it was from having some negative thoughts. I have also been just feeling anxious. I bet a great workout would help that!!
Something that keeps me going I’d like to share: Failure isn’t falling down. It’s staying down.(proverbs 24:16)
So anybody else feel hungry and tired on this food plan? Or is it just me? I’m craving bread and cheese products. Wierd I know, any suggestions?
Technically day 3! Already, man I cannot wait to start feeling and seeing changes in myself. Having a hard time starting with th meal plan provided due to budget. But I’m trying to eat healthy and stay on calorie target!
So far so good on my second day. It’s amazing how much the cravings subside when your choosing the right nourishment. I’m starting my grocery list now. Cooking has never been my strong point so I printed on the grocery list on the meal plan that was email to us, it’s going to be a BIG help.
While I am in a positive head space and working hard to exercise and eat right taking the time to plan so that I can plan to succeed is really killing me. Yesterday, I went straight from work to camp to nutrition class to making lunch for tomorrow to bed. I am struggling with finding time to plan. It looks like I know what I’ll be doing on my lunch hour today. Anyone feel like there are not enough hours in the day? Even with no camp tonight I still have to fit in a quick workout between getting home from work and going to choir rehearsal tonight. Guess some late night grocery shopping is in order as well…I am down to half a carton of eggs, a little deli meat, condiments, and beer in the fridge. I mean…there is not beer in my fridge Pricilla…I don’t think that fits into the diet plan.
First day a success! Although, I would count that as my free day already this week.
This mornings breakfast was AWESOME! I had a shake with yogurt, frozen fruit, banana and OJ. Great start to a great day! I felt the same way about my measurements and picture. That’s enough motivation for me!
Wendy~ I felt the same exact way!! Here is to the new us in 47 days!
Started Day 2 off with a run this morning which was a great start to the day! I am going to set some time aside later this afternoon to do some meal planning and grocery shopping. Have a great day everyone!
Finally just sat down at the computer and emailed Priscilla my before photos. I have to say that I have avoided looking at myself in pictures. All I can say is wow !!! Not a good wow…. But after coming from the nutrition class and listening to Priscilla talk about positive affirmations (yes Priscilla – I listened) I am focused on being positive. I can’t wait to see the new and improved me in 48-days. So here is to full disclosure – Weight 193.6, Hips 45.5, Waist 36.
Nicole – never say never – you will probably win this one
Day 1 for me consisted of getting my schedule worked out with my ride/babysitter to ensure I don’t miss a class! I also measured myself and took my before picture, not too exciting but I can’t wait to take that after picture!!
Here we go! Day one of the 48 day challenge. I am really hoping that this challenge helps me reach my goal. I feel like I have started “diets” and
“workout plans” in the past and never reached my goals. I am hoping that this time will be different with Priscilla’s help and the prizes don’t hurt either
can’t quite make myself get ina a sportsbra and take a picture. Needing this 48 day Challenge!
good luck all!
Day 1 started with my measurements and weight in. Can’t wait to see the numbers start changing. Here we go!!!
So it is the first day of the challange and just knowing I can’t makes me want to eat all the “junk” food. Anyway – here is to a new and improved all of us. Can’t wait to see where we all end up in 48 Days ! Good Luck everyone.
